Our 45th Consecutive Proof of Reserves
If you've recently opened an OKX account - or you're still deciding whether to - there's a good chance the timing isn't a coincidence. Across Europe, MiCA's final compliance deadline has pushed a lot of people to take a fresh look at where they hold their crypto. Some exchanges have scaled back their EU offering. Others have exited entirely. If you're one of the many users re-homing your assets right now, you're asking the right question: how do I actually know this exchange has what it says it has?
That's exactly what Proof of Reserves is for. And this month, OKX published its 45th consecutive monthly report.

As of this report, OKX's on-chain wallets hold:
$23,122,555,086 combined across BTC, ETH, USDT, and USDC
BTC: $8,625,966,590 (105% reserve ratio)
ETH: $3,187,525,086 (103% reserve ratio)
USDT: $9,776,273,021 (112% reserve ratio)
USDC: $1,532,790,389 (101% reserve ratio)
A reserve ratio above 100% means OKX holds more of each asset on-chain than it owes customers. If the ratio ever dipped below 100%, that would be a red flag.
OKX's first Proof of Reserves report went out in November 2022; this is the 45th in an unbroken monthly run. If you're comparing exchanges, consistency of disclosure is arguably a better signal than any single month's number. It tells you whether transparency is a policy.
Check your own report
This is the part some exchanges don't offer, and it's the part worth actually using if you're still deciding where to keep your funds. OKX's Proof of Reserves is built on a cryptographic method called zk-STARK. Every customer balance is placed into a structure called a Merkle tree, which lets OKX prove two things mathematically, without exposing anyone's individual account details:
Every account balance is included in the total OKX claims to hold.
OKX's on-chain assets are enough to cover it all, with no account allowed to sit at a negative balance.

Click "View my report" to pull your own inclusion data.
Download OKX's open-source zk-STARK Validator tool (available on GitHub) and run the verification locally.
You'll get a pass/fail result — "inclusion constraint validation passed" — confirming your balance is genuinely part of the audited total.
It takes a few minutes. For anyone who's just moved a meaningful amount of crypto onto a new platform, it's worth a few minutes.

If you're in the EEA and you're here because your previous exchange is winding down its European service, it's worth understanding that Proof of Reserves and regulatory licensing are two different (complementary) things. MiCA authorization tells you an exchange is legally permitted to operate in the EU. Proof of Reserves tells you whether the exchange actually holds what it claims to hold, independent of any regulator's review cycle. You want both.
The bottom line
Trust in crypto shouldn't be a matter of taking someone's word for it. That's the whole point of blockchain technology.
