This is one of the main reasons that base is so impressive.
It is by far the most successful launch of a new chain we have ever seen.
In a little over 2 years they’ve fostered killer apps, an organic ecosystem and become a top chain in terms of TVL.
Not to mention that in their upcoming TGE they will create one of the largest wealth effects crypto has ever seen and further solidify their users by giving them ownership.
Still early imo
The monad launch proved something I think a lot of us have known for a while
The demand for new chains is incredibly low.
Speed and transaction cost are no longer selling points. They’ve been solved
And there are only a few things that will make one try a new chain
A. Liquidity (see the brief BNB season earlier this year)
B. Killer apps or protocols that can’t be easily replicated.
C. Vested interests/ownership
It is easier than ever to build a new efficient chain but harder than ever to actually make people use it.
