Weak Growth, But Inflation Still Matters 👀
Weak growth doesn’t automatically mean lower rates. 👀
July retail sales fell 0.6% MoM, while Michigan sentiment dropped to 51.0.
Cooling demand supports a more dovish Fed outlook, but 1-year inflation expectations rising to 4.3% complicate the picture.
Softer data could benefit gold and $BTC through lower yields and a weaker dollar, but persistent inflation may limit upside for risk assets.
