What are you raising? What are you planting?
For those asking what I’m running here in the jungle:
– Chickens: Rhode Island Reds + French Black Copper Marans
– Fish: Trout in a full recirculating aquaculture system
– Hydroponics: Outdoor NFT setup with shishito peppers, basil, strawberries
– Greenhouses: Tomatoes + blueberries
– Orchard / food forest: Hundreds of fruit trees, including rare Brazilian ones most people have never heard of, like guabiju, cambuci, pitanga, grumixama, uvaia, jabuticaba, etc.
– Berry garden: blackberries, raspberries, even more blueberries, gooseberry, red currant, passion fruits (okay, not a berry).
– Vegetable beds: Standard seasonal stuff + tropical varieties
– Jungle: wild boar. Yummie.
Basically aiming for maximum self-sufficiency.
