You are required to complete identity verification in order to make withdrawals. During the withdrawal process, you may encounter withdrawal restrictions or account security locks (both on-chain withdrawals and internal transfers), including 24-hour security holds triggered by account changes. This article explains the common causes and how to remove or lift each restriction.

Quick Self-Diagnosis: Which Section Should I Check?

If you're not sure which type of withdrawal restriction you're facing, follow these two quick steps to jump straight to the right section of this article, instead of searching through or misreading other articles.

Step 1: Is the withdraw button clickable?

  • Withdraw button is greyed out / not clickable, or the page shows a suspension/maintenance notice: go to Risk control restrictions or “Withdrawal suspended” message below.

  • Withdraw button is clickable, but you get an error after submitting: continue to Step 2 and match the keyword in the error message.

Step 2: Match the keyword in your error message to a section

  • Error mentions funds password, login password, verification method changed, or can't withdraw within 24 hours: see 24-hour withdrawal restriction (account security settings)

  • Error mentions T+N, double-spend, account anomaly detected, or you received a risk-control email: see Risk control restrictions

  • Error mentions insufficient deposit confirmations or confirmation pending: see Deposit confirmations not completed / Status not updated

  • You aren't receiving a verification code, or see verification failed/too many attempts: see Unable to receive verification codes / Authentication failed

  • Message says the asset is untradable or has been delisted: see Withdrawal of non-tradable assets is suspended

  • Message says withdrawal function suspended/system maintenance/upgrade: see “Withdrawal suspended” message

  • Funds show as occupied (e.g. used as margin or held in a savings product): see Funds are occupied

  • Address flagged as high-risk, or you received an email about a 48-hour withdrawal restriction: see Withdrawal address flagged as high-risk

  • Message says the crypto's address format is wrong (e.g. special coins like ZEC): see Special withdrawal address requirements

  • Funds are showing in a sub-account, or main account balance is insufficient: see Funds held in sub-accounts

  • Page error, network issue, or the button doesn't respond: see Withdrawal page/network errors or exceptions

24-hour withdrawal restriction (account security settings)

Fund password changes

The latest app version no longer requires a fund password. If your page shows a 24-hour withdrawal restriction due to a fund password change, update the app to the latest version or use the web version to continue.

Note: if you've created a wallet, make sure you back up your seed phrase and private key before updating. Otherwise, your assets can't be recovered.

Login password changes

To ensure account security, withdrawals aren't allowed within 24 hours after changing your login password. The restriction will be automatically lifted after the time period expires. Please wait patiently and try again after 24 hours.

Changes to phone number, email, or authenticator

To ensure account security, withdrawals are restricted for 24 hours after changing any authentication method. This restriction is automatically removed after 24 hours.

New withdrawal lock

New address withdrawal lock: To disable or remove this security setting, go to Address Book > Address settings (mobile and email verification required). If enabled, withdrawals to newly added allowlisted addresses are restricted for 24 hours. You can turn off this lock at any time or simply wait 24 hours for it to lift automatically.

Note: upon first binding of security information such as email, phone number, or authenticator app, you can immediately withdraw or sell your crypto without waiting.

Reached the 24-Hour withdrawal limit

If you have reached your 24-hour withdrawal limit, the withdrawal page on the app will display information indicating that you have reached your available 24-hour limit.

If you are withdrawing crypto via the web interface, after selecting crypto, the 24h available limit will be displayed on the right side of the withdrawal page.

Risk control restrictions

Trigger T+N restriction

Buying crypto via P2P may trigger the T+N withdrawal restriction period. If you are unable to withdraw after a P2P purchase, this restriction will lift automatically after the T+N period ends. Please wait until it's lifted before withdrawing. For more details, refer to: What should I do if the T+N security protection is triggered and I can't trade?

Double-spending risk control

Double-spending risk control restricts withdrawals or sales only for the amount equivalent to the deposit. Other account functions aren't affected. This measure protects your funds. You can check the estimated recovery time on the withdrawal page. The restriction is removed automatically once the period ends.

Other account freezing or restriction scenarios

Check your inbox and spam folder for emails from our platform. Follow the instructions in the email to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

Deposit confirmations not completed / Status not updated

Historical deposit status stuck at “Deposit successful”

If a previous deposit status hasn't updated, withdrawals of the same asset amount may be unavailable. Other account functions aren't affected. This can occur due to technical maintenance or system updates. Contact OKX Assistant for assistance.

Latest deposit hasn't met withdrawal confirmation requirements

The deposit page shows:

  • Confirmations required for arrival

  • Confirmations required for withdrawal unlock

If the confirmation count is below the withdrawal unlock requirement, the asset can't be withdrawn or sold yet. Block confirmations depend on the blockchain network and miners. The platform can't speed this up or estimate the exact time.

Unable to receive verification codes / Authentication failed

Frequent authentication

Avoid repeatedly requesting verification codes in a short period. Frequent attempts may block code delivery. We recommend waiting 30 minutes to 1 hour before trying again.

Unable to receive SMS verification codes

Try the following:

  • Check whether your phone can receive SMS normally

  • Check if any apps are blocking messages

  • If the page shows “SMS failed to send,” try again after 2 hours

  • Update the app to the latest version and try again

Note: if you use OKX Wallet, back up your private key and seed phrase before updating or uninstalling the app.

Unable to receive email verification codes

Try the following:

  • Check your spam or trash folder

  • Add the following email addresses to your allowlist and try again:

    • noreply@mailer1.okx.com

    • noreply@mailer2.okx.com

    • noreply@service2.okx.com

    • noreply@service3.okx.com

  • Update the app to the latest version and retry

Note: back up your wallet private key and seed phrase before updating or uninstalling the app.

Authentication fails

Refer: How do I reset Two-factor authentication (2FA)?

Withdrawal of non-tradable assets is suspended

This may occur if the token has been delisted or is otherwise no longer supported on OKX. Please wait for the delisting process to complete. Once the token is delisted, you can follow the steps in What should I do if I accidentally deposit crypto that OKX doesn't support to proceed with your withdrawal.

“Withdrawal suspended” message

Withdrawals may be temporarily suspended due to maintenance or upgrades. You can check the real-time status of OKX services, including ongoing or scheduled maintenance, at the OKX Status page. Please wait until maintenance is complete. Refer to Why is my deposit/withdrawal suspended?

Funds are occupied

Assets used as trading margin

Close or reduce your positions before withdrawing.

Assets in Simple Earn or On-chain Earn

Redeem your Earn assets or wait until the Earn period ends before withdrawing.

Withdrawal address flagged as high-risk

If we detect potential risks associated with your withdrawal activity, the system will temporarily restrict your withdrawal function for 48 hours to protect your account and funds and prevent potential fraud.

During this period, other features remain fully accessible. For more details on the reason, please check the email notification sent to your registered email address.

Please stay vigilant and watch out for scams:

  • Any contact through unofficial channels such as QQ, Telegram, or WeChat — even if the sender uses a profile picture or username similar to OKX's official accounts — requesting transfers, QR code scans, or verification codes is a scam.

  • Don't trust such messages. If you encounter any suspicious activity, please report it immediately.

Special withdrawal address requirements

Some assets (e.g., ZEC) have specific requirements for withdrawal addresses.

Funds held in sub-accounts

Funds in sub-accounts can’t be withdrawn directly. Transfer them to the main account before withdrawing.

Withdrawal page/network errors or exceptions

Common issues include:

  • Internal error or invalid token prompts

  • Address errors when adding a withdrawal address

  • Buttons not responding

Try the following:

  • Switch networks and wait 5 minutes before retrying

  • Withdraw using an alternative address

  • Update the app to the latest version and try again

Note: if you use OKX Wallet, back up your private key and seed phrase before updating or uninstalling the app.
