Convert to Pay is a feature that lets you seamlessly convert the assets in your smart account into Pay-enabled assets like USDT or USDC on the X Layer network. It supports both stablecoins and non-stablecoins across multiple blockchain networks. This ensures your funds are ready for payments, purchases, or other transactions in supported services.

How do I access this feature?

You can access Convert to Pay via the crypto selection screen under the Pay a contact option.

FAQ

1. What assets can I convert to?

You can use the Convert to Pay feature to:

  • Convert assets from any supported networks into USDT or USDC on XLayer.

  • Auto conversion of USDT or USDC on X Layer to USDT or USDC on Ethereum or TRON.

This flexibility ensures seamless transactions across multiple networks.

2. How much can I convert?

The Convert to Pay feature has a daily limit, and each supported blockchain network has its own conversion cap. For detailed information on the limits for each network, please visit our conversion limits page.

3. Why is it an estimated amount rather than a fixed amount that I can get from converting?

The amount is shown as an estimate because live market prices fluctuate regularly. The final amount you receive depends on the current market price at the exact time of conversion. This ensures that the conversion reflects the most accurate and up-to-date value.

4. How long does it take to complete a conversion?

The time it takes to complete a conversion depends on the specific process and network conditions.

You can monitor the progress of your conversion in the status section on a conversion details page, which provides step-by-step details, including:

  • Transfer status (for example, transferring assets to the exchange).

  • Conversion progress (for example, converting one asset to another).

  • Final transfer to the Pay account.

This ensures you stay informed about the status of your conversion in real time.

5. How do I pay the fee?

The fee for conversions is paid using the native token of the From chain. For example:

  • The fee amount will be deducted from your Pay account at the time of conversion.

Please ensure that you have sufficient native tokens in your smart account to cover the fee; otherwise, the conversion can't proceed.

Note: if you're converting between X Layer assets, the fee will be covered by us.

6. Why did my convert fail? If my convert failed, what should I do now?

A conversion may fail for various reasons during different steps of the process.

  • Reason for failure: the reason for failure will be shown in the status details. Examples include insufficient funds for fees, market price changes, or issues transferring assets.

  • What happens to your assets: your assets will be returned to either your smart account or your Exchange account, depending on the step where the failure occurred.

  • Next steps: review the failure reason and ensure all necessary conditions are met (for example, sufficient native tokens for fees).

    • Try the conversion again.

  • If assets aren't returned: if your funds aren't returned to your accounts, please contact our Customer Service team for assistance.

For a detailed explanation of each failure step, you can refer to the notifications or order details displayed in the app.

7. Where can I find my converted assets?

You can find your converted assets on the crypto selection sheet in the Pay a contact option.

Note: the changes will be reflected in a couple of minutes, ensuring your balances are updated in real-time.
