noodle mode - hes up 55% this month without shorting
November Trading Update
Ended the month +55% on the perps account. Honestly surprised since I did not short a single time.
> Early Nov: Scalping ZEC and STRK. My big win here was longing ZEC from $450 to $650. Added +20% to the book.
> Nov 7: Quick BTC long from 100k to 103k. Took it because it felt like bulls could put up a fight at $100k and flows looked decent. +5% to the book.
> Nov 13–21: Tried bottom ticking BTC 8 different times and roundtripped all of them. I knew we rarely bottom mid week in a downtrend yet kept forcing it. Execution was horrific but luck bailed me out with mostly breakeven exits. 10% drawdown for the book.
> Nov 21–29: Finally caught the real bottom around $82k and scaled out at $88k and $90k. Equities looked supportive again and it felt like we were setting up for a proper end of month bounce. +25% to the book.
> Nov 22–29: Ran the end of month mean reversion setup I have written about before. Played it through DeFi and Revenue names. +60% on the mean reversion account and +15% to overall perps.
Key Learning for the Month
I have found that the best mentorship is usually implicit rather than explicit. You don't need someone to officially take you under their wing. A lot of the people who have helped me the most do not even realize I think of them as mentors. You are unlikely to stumble into these folks by luck on Twitter. Need to reach out, share ideas, take feedback and be comfortable with some pushback.
One example of this implicit mentorship for me has been @lazyvillager1 . I have learned a lot from him even though he probably does not realize it. He is always open to hearing ideas and giving straightforward feedback. His approach is quite unique, even coming from tradfi myself, and his thought process has pushed me to think about the market in a more rounded way. A few others have played a similar role and I appreciate all of them. Thanks as well to @sqalef and @Cheshire_Cap for consistently being great to bounce ideas with.
