I am an investor in both Mon Protocol and Monad.
I do think HyperLiquid is making a cop out saying that “the only thing spot token holders pay for is onchain not frontend” when it is obvious the only reason why people paid that much for spot auctions is for HL Frontend.
Backend doesn’t matter, people wanted to be listed on HyperLiquid frontend. Many other ways to have solved this not just “oh also other CEXs did this so we copied them”. It may have looked minor to them but to a project paying $500K there should be some form of recompensation and then making it clearer in the future. Especially when early on the prices and hype of these tickers began to contribute a lot to the revenue, can’t overlook that.
