Most people on cable news have no clue what “IT” actually means when it comes to government.
They hear “modernize systems” and think someone’s fixing the Wi-Fi.
Meanwhile, we’re still storing retirement records in a literal mine in Pennsylvania.
You can’t fight fraud, waste, or abuse if the government can’t even see its own balance sheet.
If there’s no system of record, if 20 different platforms can’t talk to each other, if you don’t even know where the money’s going.
So when pundits scoff, “Why are they so obsessed with IT?”— what they’re really saying is: 'I don’t understand what IT is for.'
This isn’t about gadgets. It’s about accountability.
And the generational gap is real—young people intuitively get that fixing government means fixing the code behind it.
Older commentators? Still buffering.
