Very underrated post. Bitcoin Runes and Ordinals are still early — the infrastructure is immature, but it’s evolving fast. This moment feels a lot like when ETH was under $20 or right after the DAO hack in 2016. Many got burned. So everyone doubted it… until they couldn’t. The Bitcoin ecosystem opportunity is massive — it could spark a megacycle unlike anything we’ve seen before.

Why Runes 2.0 is a big deal 🧵
People have been talking about ways to make Bitcoin tokens programmable for many years but Runes builders have actually delivered it
Thanks to a set of upgrades to the Bitcoin L1 infrastructure that powers Runes trading and launchpads the Runes UX is now 10x better than just 12 months ago (no I am not exaggerating)
Trading improvements:
- No MEV or sniping
- Virtual liquidity pools that feel like a Uniswap style AMM
- Trustless liquidity provisioning and market making
- CLMM concentrated liquidity
- Advanced order routing and aggregation engines
- 2-of-2 multisig wallets that allow for optimistic instant settlement on trades in between blocks
Launchpad improvements:
- Synthetic minting experience that feels like Pump Fun but without the rugs
- Funds no longer go to miners and instead bootstrap initial liquidity
- Failed mints are now refunded
