Anthropic stock: IPO date and how to trade before the listing
Anthropic has filed for an IPO, bringing the company behind Claude a step closer to the stock market. If you’re following Anthropic stock, there are still important details to come, including the offering price and first trading day.
But you don’t have to wait for the listing to take a trading position. Eligible EU traders can already go long or short on Anthropic through Pre-IPO X-Perps on OKX. These contracts let you trade its implied valuation without buying shares in the company.
Here’s what the filing tells us, when the IPO could happen and how trading before the listing works.
Anthropic has filed for an IPO. What do we know?
Anthropic announced on 26 October 2026 that it had filed an S-1 registration statement with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
The company plans to list its Class A common stock on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker ANT. At the time of the announcement, it had not determined the number of shares to offer or the IPO price range.
An IPO, or initial public offering, allows a company to offer shares to public investors. The filing provides information about the business and proposed offering, but it does not mean the stock is already trading.
When is the Anthropic IPO?
As of 06 November 2026, Anthropic has not confirmed an official IPO date.
Reuters reported that the company was targeting a November listing, with marketing to prospective investors expected to begin during the week of 9 November. These are reported plans and remain subject to change.
The next milestones to watch are an updated prospectus with a proposed price range, final pricing and confirmation of the first trading day.
There is also a distinction between the IPO price and the price investors pay once exchange trading opens. Shares can begin trading above or below the offering price.
Why is Anthropic’s IPO attracting attention?
Anthropic is the company behind Claude, a family of AI models and products used for tasks such as writing, research and software development. Its products include Claude Code, which helps developers work on code.
The proposed listing would give public-market investors a way to buy shares directly in the business behind those tools.
Anthropic’s S-1 shows rapid revenue growth: the company generated $16.3 billion in the first half of 2026, compared with $1.2 billion a year earlier. Its operating loss narrowed to $693 million from approximately $2.1 billion over the same period.
Those figures help explain the interest, but growth alone does not determine whether a stock is attractively priced. Investors will also need to weigh the offering valuation, competition and the costs of developing and running AI.
Can you buy Anthropic stock before the IPO?
Anthropic stock is not yet available through normal public stock-exchange trading. Private-market transactions are a separate route, with their own eligibility requirements and transfer restrictions.
Once shares begin trading publicly, investors can check whether their broker supports the listing. Access to an allocation at the IPO price is a separate process and is not guaranteed.
For eligible users who want to trade before the listing, OKX offers Anthropic Pre-IPO X-Perps. These provide exposure to changes in the company’s implied valuation rather than ownership of its shares.
What are Pre-IPO X-Perps?
Pre-IPO X-Perps are derivative contracts linked to companies that have not yet gone public.
Their price reflects the valuation implied by trading in the contract. It is not an official share price and can differ significantly from private funding valuations or the eventual IPO price.
Trading a Pre-IPO X-Perp does not make you a shareholder. You do not receive shares, an IPO allocation, voting rights, dividends or any right to acquire future shares. You hold a cash-settled derivative that gives you exposure to price movements.
With Anthropic Pre-IPO X-Perps on OKX, you can:
Go long or short: Take a position that benefits from a rising or falling contract price.
Trade 24/7: React to developments during the week or over the weekend.
Use up to 10x leverage: Take a larger position relative to your margin, while increasing both potential gains and losses.
This gives eligible traders a way to act on their view of Anthropic ahead of its public-market debut.
How to trade Anthropic before its IPO on OKX
Sign in to your OKX account or create one, then complete identity verification and the required appropriateness assessment.
Next, open the Anthropic Pre-IPO X-Perp market. Review the fees, funding costs and margin requirements before choosing your position size and direction.
Make sure you understand how leverage affects your position and when it could be liquidated.
What happens before and after the IPO?
When Anthropic’s regulatory filings disclose its actual share count, OKX may adjust the contract through a process called a rebase. This can happen before the IPO. The adjustment changes the contract quantity and price proportionally to preserve your position’s value, subject to minor rounding differences. Trading may briefly pause, and some orders, including take-profit and stop-loss orders, are cancelled and need to be set again. OKX will notify users when a rebase is scheduled, including details of any trading interruptions and changes to orders.
Separately, once Anthropic completes its IPO, OKX intends to convert the Pre-IPO contract into a standard equity-linked X-Perp at a time it determines. The position remains a derivative and does not convert into shares. OKX will announce when the conversion is scheduled.
After conversion, pricing uses an index that combines stock-market price feeds with other market sources. During regular stock-market hours, stock price feeds carry significant weight. Funding payments between long and short traders help keep the contract’s trading price aligned with that index. These mechanisms support price tracking, but do not guarantee an exact match with Anthropic’s stock price at every moment.

No. You hold a cash-settled derivative. It does not provide company ownership, voting rights, an IPO allocation or a claim to future shares.
Contract prices can move sharply, and leverage magnifies losses as well as gains. Your position may be liquidated if it no longer meets margin requirements. Funding costs, fees and limited liquidity can also affect your results.
The IPO itself does not close your position or convert it into shares. A separate rebase may take place when regulatory filings disclose Anthropic’s actual share count, including before the IPO. This adjusts your position’s quantity and price proportionally to preserve its value, subject to minor rounding differences.
