About BIP110ForkFallsBehind
Bitcoin's BIP-110 would curb large-data writes and complex scripts for one year. Backers say it limits inscriptions and nonfinancial data; critics warn it changes Bitcoin's open, neutral rules and risks a split. Miner support is near zero, far below threshold. A fork run by a few backers diverged after block 961,632 and trails mainnet. Ledger warns against moving or trading its assets because missing protection could put mainchain BTC at risk. Dispute tests Bitcoin's data and governance limits.

Thanks @LorenHodl
For such a decentralized miracle of humanity, there are an awful lot of central figures in Bitcoin, when one would think there would be less personality and more action, facts and progress.
Just the name itself; Bitcoin 'Core', says alot, most certainly lends toward the opposite of decentralization
What worries the market more than Bitcoin’s price is its inner conflict. 🌿 Today, let’s set prices aside for a governance story most retail investors miss. Bitcoin’s BIP-110 is in its final phase, yet miner support sits at just 0.89%. To lock it in, 55% is needed. Without a surge, August may bring a forced version upgrade. In simple terms: should Bitcoin cap data writes to prevent network congestion? Miners, developers, and the community are a...

Bitcoin Mechanic's latest video, he said none of the 2017 UTXO forks changed their hashing algorithm and they all kept SHA256. That's simply not true. The only ones that kept it were Bcash and BSV. Every single other one changed it.
Bitcoin Diamond switched to X13. Bitcoin Private changed theirs. Bitcoin Gold went to Equihash. And there were a bunch more. That's really the only way you can fork away from Bitcoin: either change the hashing algorithm and compete against it, lower the difficulty and become a much less secure chain, or merge mine..
I don't know if you just didn't know that or if you're trying to set a narrative and confuse people into thinking something happened in 2017 that never happened, like you've been doing this whole time.
Time's up.

🚨JUST IN: $BTC Core developer Luke Dashjr says changing Bitcoin's proof-of-work is "the only option" if BIP 110 fails.
Critics warn if six mining pools can block the proposal, Bitcoin's decentralization is "effectively lost."
Meanwhile, Bitcoin briefly topped $65,340, its highest since July 27, before pulling back near $65,000.
🚨 BITCOIN JUST HIT A MAJOR NETWORK SPLIT.
At block 961,632, BIP-110 has officially split from the Bitcoin network.
And the interesting part?
Only around 2.6% of miners are signaling support for BIP-110.
That means the overwhelming majority of Bitcoin miners are continuing on the existing chain.
So what exactly is happening? 👇
🔵 Bitcoin main chain:
The network continues operating normally, backed by the vast majority of miner support.
🟠 BIP-110 branch:
A separate chain is attempting to enforce its own rules, but currently has very limited miner participation.
If that imbalance continues, the BIP-110 chain could eventually become a small, economically insignificant Bitcoin fork.
But why does BIP-110 exist?
The proposal is focused on limiting the storage of non-financial data on Bitcoin, including things such as inscriptions, with the goal of reducing what supporters consider spam and unnecessary block-space usage.
That raises a much bigger question:
What should Bitcoin's block space actually be used for?
💰 Financial transactions only?
🖼️ Or should Bitcoin remain permissionless infrastructure where users decide what data to put on-chain?
That's the real debate.
And this isn't simply about one proposal.
It's about Bitcoin's governance, decentralization and the rules that define the network.
For now, the market appears to be making its choice:
Bitcoin continues forward.
BIP-110 is taking a separate path.
Now the question is whether that branch can attract enough miners, users and economic activity to matter.
Bitcoin's most important battles aren't always fought over price.
Sometimes they're fought over the rules. ⚔️₿
