Introducing Expiry Futures: Trade defined market timeframes with global liquidity and no funding fees

Today we're introducing Expiry Futures for eligible users in Europe, offering a new way to trade short-term market opportunities with fixed monthly and quarterly contracts. Whether you're positioning around a market event, managing portfolio risk or expressing a defined market view, Expiry Futures give you another way to trade alongside OKX's existing derivatives products.
Expiry futures have long been a feature of traditional financial markets, giving traders a way to take positions over a defined timeframe. Perpetual futures remain the go-to instrument for leveraged crypto trading. But as trading strategies become more sophisticated, there's growing demand for products that better align with defined market horizons and portfolio objectives.
At OKX, we've continued to evolve that model with products such as X-Perps. But different traders have different needs. Expiry Futures bring the defined timeframes familiar to traditional markets to our European offering, with monthly and quarterly contracts and no recurring funding fees, the benefit being that traders have clearer cost control from entry to exit.
They don't replace perpetuals. They complement them, giving experienced traders more choice between continuous exposure and a defined trading horizon.
Expiry Futures are leveraged futures contracts that settle on a predefined monthly or quarterly expiry date.At launch, eligible users can trade:

Ethereum (ETH)
Solana (SOL)
Gold (XAU)
Each contract offers:
Up to 10x leverage
Selected & Isolated Margin
Monthly and quarterly expiries
Cash settlement at expiry
No funding rate
Global Liquidity
Unlike X-Perps futures, Expiry Futures have a clearly defined settlement date, making them well suited for traders who want a specific investment horizon.
