Published on Mar 11, 2021Updated on Apr 11, 20242 min read

In order to boost market liquidity and improve trading experience, OKX will be adjusting the tick sizes of ETHUSD and LTCUSD futures at 9:00 am UTC on Mar. 18.

Specific adjustment details are as follows:

Contract

Underlying

Before

After

Futures

ETHUSD

0.001

0.01

Futures

LTCUSD

0.001

0.01

Existing orders will not be canceled because of the adjustment, and users should take note of the following:

1. Open orders and historic orders will be displayed with the adjusted tick sizes by rounding down the buy orders and rounding up the sell orders.

2. After the adjustment, existing orders, including those placed by API users, will still be filled according to the original tick sizes.

For example, if a tick size is adjusted to 0.01 from 0.001 an order originally placed at the price of 330.244 will be displayed as 330.24 but will still be filled at 330.244.

3. If any user had placed an order with the previous tick size prior to the adjustment going into effect, the original tick size will remain unchanged. After the adjustment, if an API user places an order using the older, pre-adjustment tick size, the order still can be filled, as the system will automatically adjust the tick size to be consistent with the new one. As for non-API users, they can no longer use an older tick size after the adjustment.

Users are encouraged to adjust their trading strategies based on the changes highlighted above.
