Beyond its role within the OKX exchange ecosystem, OKB serves as the gas token for X Layer, giving it utility beyond conventional exchange-token benefits.
Its fixed supply also changes the token's supply dynamics. With all 21 million tokens already in circulation, there is no remaining scheduled supply expansion through new minting.

Le développement important dans sa tokenomique est survenu en août 2025, lorsque OKX a réalisé une réduction majeure de l'offre, brûlant environ 65,26 millions d'OKB issus de rachats historiques et de réserves de trésorerie.
Suite à cette opération, l'offre totale a été fixée à 21 millions de tokens, avec une mise à jour du contrat intelligent pour supprimer la fonctionnalité de mint.
