I am irrationally tilted by the messaging around Stripe's L1 (then again perhaps not so surprising since it's not actually Stripe) gentlemen: it is *totally* okay to build this L1 because you want more full stack control and to own your distribution Also perfectly legitimate to want the L1 premium and to have permissioned validator sets But there is no need to randomly make up nonsense about scaling and performance i) having a dedicated "payments channel" does not magically get you TPS or low fees In fact, the only way to have a dedicated channel is to permission your blockspace (or be Turing incomplete) — in which case you have rebuilt SWIFT but with false crypto branding Which is ok, but there's no need for false marketing If you want to solve this problem in permissionless blockchain fashion, you must have localized fee markets so that high trading activity for market A does not affect the fee markets of a separate payments channel This already works on Solana today where...
