Aave’s long-term relevance depends on more than the amount of capital deposited into its lending markets. Sustainable borrowing demand is equally important. A protocol can attract substantial liquidity, but without consistent borrowers, that capital may not generate meaningful economic activity. The relationship between deposits, utilization, and borrowing costs offers a much clearer picture of lending-market health.
