Decentralized storage has a compelling proposition, but available capacity is not the same as paying customer demand. Filecoin’s fundamental story depends on whether users consistently need verifiable storage and whether providers can serve those needs economically. Real usage, retrieval performance, and sustainable provider incentives deserve more attention than raw storage capacity when assessing the network’s progress.
