What caught my attention is the convergence.
Crypto isn't replacing payment rails. It's quietly becoming the infrastructure underneath them.

RWA/Stablecoin
1/ @Visa expands support for stablecoin-linked card programs by connecting VisaNet settlement data with on-chain credit infrastructure to help issuers access working capital.
2/ @circle agrees to acquire @tazapay to expand cross-border payments and USDC distribution. Closing is expected in 2027, subject to regulatory approvals and other conditions.
3/ @blocks, led by @jack, applies for a federal trust bank charter to offer bitcoin and stablecoin custody. The application is not an approval.
4/ @ARKInvest seeks @SECGov relief for a tokenized share class in its venture fund. The proposal remains pending, not a product launch.
Ryan's Comment
Most crypto cards today still work much like prepaid cards: users load stablecoins before spending.
Visa's announcement addresses B2B settlement liquidity for card issuers. But it also raises a longer-term question: could this infrastructure eventually support something closer to a genuine credit card?
VisaNet settlement data helps lenders assess businesses. Extending that logic to individuals is a possibility I see, not a consumer-credit product Visa has announced.
If on-chain personal credit scoring becomes viable, users could spend within an assessed credit limit and repay later, without preloading funds or posting excessive crypto collateral.
To me, this could be an early step toward connecting one of DeFi's hardest problems, unsecured or undercollateralized personal credit, with everyday payments.

✍️ Ryan's Comment
Tokenized stocks are gaining traction in an unexpected way.
With RWA-meme coin pairs heating up recently, small-cap public company executives have been talking about meme coins far more often. The smaller a company's market cap, the more directly on-chain liquidity inflows translate into price gains, so executives are actively leveraging this as a tool to prop up their stock price.
However, these price-boosting attempts carry a serious risk of being interpreted by regulators as market manipulation. This could trigger a powerful regulatory crackdown across the entire RWA industry, giving authorities a clear pretext, under the banner of retail protection, to sharply restrict individual access to on-chain stock markets.

Stablecoins used to compete on who could issue more.
Now they compete on who can land the money in a bank account.
⚡ Visa thickened the settlement layer: $20B annualized, already inside card clearing.
🏦 Circle bought the last mile: ~$400M for Tazapay, payouts in 100+ markets.
One layer clears. One layer delivers.
Market cap measures the water plant. Rails decide who gets paid.

Payment-network data can now underwrite onchain credit at the point of settlement.
Visa reports:
• $2.5B+ in cumulative volume financed by Credit Coop since 2023
• 3,000+ draws and 9,000+ repayments executed onchain
• zero defaults reported
Credit Coop sizes each draw to the net debit in Visa’s daily settlement file. Its Spigot smart contract routes incoming receivables to service interest and replenish the line.
The lender sees the settlement obligation and repayment record in the same operating loop.
