About CloudflareAIWallets
Cloudflare has unveiled Cloudflare Wallets, giving AI agents identities and programmable wallets, with stablecoin payments planned via x402. Under preset permissions, agents could buy APIs, data and content autonomously. This is less a traditional crypto wallet than a payment layer embedded in web infrastructure. As agents move from retrieving information to making transactions, the bigger contest is who defines machine payments: crypto-native platforms or internet infrastructure giants?

The biggest unlock for crypto may not be onboarding another billion humans.
It may be onboarding billions of AI agents.
As agents begin searching for information, calling APIs, purchasing data, renting compute, paying for storage, and hiring other agents to complete tasks, they’ll need a native way to transact on the internet.
They need programmable, instant, low-friction internet money. That’s where crypto rails become infrastructure and not just speculation.
In this case, @youdotcom is integrating x402 into its Web Search API built and functioning on @base
Protocols like x402 point toward a future where AI agents can discover services, pay for them automatically, and receive value without human intervention. Every API call, dataset purchase, model inference, or digital service becomes a machine-to-machine transaction.
The agentic economy could eventually rival or even surpass the scale of today’s human economy simply because software can operate 24/7, at internet speed, and at massive scale.
If that future unfolds, the winners won’t just be the best AI models, they’ll also be the payment rails that power autonomous commerce.
AI simply creates the demand while crypto enables the transactions making it one of the strongest long-term AI × crypto investment narratives.

PANews Original | The Next Stablecoin User Might Not Be Human; Cloudflare Just Gave AI Agents Wallets
@Cloudflare is giving AI agents their own “wallets” and “digital identities.”
Its newly announced Cloudflare Wallets allow users to set budgets, approved merchants, and per-transaction spending limits, enabling agents to autonomously purchase APIs, data, and digital services within predefined rules.
The wallet integrates @coinbase's open-source x402 protocol, allowing machine-to-machine micropayments in base:0x833589fcd6edb6e08f4c7c32d4f71b54bda02913 without requiring agents to create conventional accounts or link bank cards.
At the same time, Cloudflare opened reservations for wallet handles, triggering a rush to claim names associated with major brands, public figures, and leading AI companies, reminiscent of the early Web3 domain-name boom.
But the wallet is only the beginning. Cloudflare’s broader ambition is to build a “headless marketplace” for the agentic internet, where AI agents can independently discover services, compare prices, make payments, and settle transactions.
With a major Web2 infrastructure provider entering the space, stablecoin payments and onchain identity are moving closer to mainstream internet adoption.
