Arbitrum faces an important challenge: converting its established Layer-2 infrastructure into lasting ecosystem demand. Lower transaction costs can attract applications and users, but they do not automatically create sustainable economic activity. DeFi liquidity, gaming applications, developer retention, and recurring transactions offer better indicators of ecosystem health. Long-term progress depends on whether activity remains meaningful beyond incentive-driven periods.
