Decentralized storage has a compelling proposition, but convincing customers to move beyond traditional cloud providers is not an easy task. Filecoin's long-term opportunity depends on practical storage demand, retrieval performance, pricing competitiveness, and reliable service providers. The technology addresses a genuine infrastructure challenge. However, sustainable customer activity will be a more meaningful indicator than network capacity alone.
