If forced to choose between having a multi-asset crypto reserve and no reserve, I would pick no reserve. If it’s not Bitcoin only, I’d rather they not have one. Politics are hard. I see a BSR being hard enough to approve. I don’t see random crypto assets as a reserve - doesn’t make sense politically. You could make a case for ETH which is decentralized enough. Another comparison- does the US hold GOLD and SILVER? We only hear the US owns 5% of the Gold supply…. Why?
