Optimism represents an important experiment in Ethereum scalability: building an ecosystem rather than simply competing for transactions. Its Superchain vision creates opportunities for multiple chains to share infrastructure and standards. However, ecosystem expansion does not automatically translate into stronger OP token demand. Governance relevance, economic value capture, and competition remain important questions.
