#SandiskValuationSplit SanDisk fell as much as 9.18% after previously gaining more than 8% on its Investor Day targets and long-term agreements. Micron, Western Digital, Seagate and SK hynix also declined sharply, indicating that the move was a broader memory and storage-sector reset rather than an isolated company-specific event. The debate is whether AI and high-bandwidth memory can make memory earnings structurally more stable or whether the industry remains highly cyclical. SanDisk’s multi-year agreements improve revenue visibility, but its approximately 80% adjusted gross-margin target already creates demanding expectations. My view is that the pullback reflects valuation compression after an extremely optimistic rally. Long-term contracts may reduce volatility, but they cannot completely remove supply, pricing and technology risks. Investors should follow contract performance, free cash flow and capacity additions rather than treating either the Investor Day rally or the subsequent decline as definitive.
