DXY's Reversal Looks Like the Real Driver Behind ETH's Rotation The dollar index has been one of the most discussed tickers on crypto posts for weeks, and the chart backs up the attention. DXY rallied from the high-97s in May to a peak near 101.6 in late July, then reversed sharply in early August, dropping to 99.518 and now testing the 99.4-99.6 support zone just beneath the 100 psychological level a real, structural move rather than sideways noise. Set against that same window, ETHBTC tells a complementary story. The ratio climbed from 0.0268 in early July to a high of 0.0301, and currently sits at 0.02951, consolidating just above its rising 20-day moving average. Dollar weakness and ETH outperformance landing in the same window is the textbook inverse relationship crypto macro traders watch for and it's showing up clearly here. This connects directly to the rotation theme from earlier this week. Intesa Sanpaolo's Q2 13F showed a clear shift away from Bitcoin ETF exposure into staked Ethereum, and this week's price action, DXY breaking down, ETHBTC holding its recent gains, lines up with that same directional read. The level to watch next is whether DXY holds the 99.4-99.6 zone or breaks lower. That's likely to be the swing factor for whether ETH's relative strength against BTC continues building from here.
