What is VIP Trading?

The platform's C2C marketplace is divided into three sections: the Express Zone, the Optional Zone, and VIP Trading. VIP Trading is a dedicated trading section built for official VIP users (VIP Trial Card holders excluded), designed to provide a higher-quality, safer trading environment.

How do VIP Merchants provide compensation?

  • Scope: Applies only to buy ads (for receiving crypto) posted by Merchants in VIP Trading.

  • Compensation rule: Within the compensation limit currently shown by the Merchant, if a dispute arises that's the Merchant's responsibility, the seller receives 100% compensation based on the order amount, paid out in USDT equivalent.

  • Compensation cap: The default limit is 200,000 USDT, displayed on the Merchant's profile page. Merchants can apply to raise this displayed limit beyond 200,000 USDT by contacting their Account Manager.

  • Who pays: The Merchant covers 100% of the compensation.

Example: A VIP Merchant's default compensation limit is 200,000 USDT. If the Merchant wants to offer 150,000 USDT instead, they can contact their Account Manager to raise the displayed limit in VIP Trading to 150,000 USDT.

Are all buy ads posted by VIP Merchants freeze-compensation ads?

Yes. Any buy ad a VIP Merchant posts must include freeze compensation.

How do I apply or exit VIP Merchant status?

How do I apply to become a VIP Merchant?

VIP Merchant selection is based on a combination of factors, including trading performance, service quality, and Merchant qualifications. Before applying, we recommend reaching out to your Account Manager first — they'll submit the application form on your behalf. Note: buy ads in VIP Trading can only be posted by Diamond Merchants, while sell ads in VIP Trading are open to both verified Merchants and Diamond Merchants (in the early stage, sell-side Merchants in VIP Trading are invited on a 1-on-1 basis by Account Managers).

How long does a VIP Merchant application take to be approved?

Applications are reviewed on a biweekly basis. Reviews and results are finalized by 18:00 (UTC+8) every other Tuesday, and your Account Manager will share the final outcome with you.

How do I exit VIP Merchant status?

  • Remove the label: Contact your Account Manager to request removal of the "VIP Merchant" status label.

  • Voluntarily exit or downgrade: On the Merchant management page, choose

Apply to Remove Merchant Status or Apply to Downgrade (from Diamond to verified Merchant).

FAQs

Q: How do I trade with a VIP Merchant?

  • You must be an official VIP user of the platform (Trial Card holders don't qualify).

  • Update your app to version 6.155 or later to see the VIP Trading entry on the C2C buy-crypto page. Select a buy ad within that zone to trade with a VIP Merchant.

Q: How can I identify a VIP Merchant?

  • Any Merchant posting ads in VIP Trading is a VIP Merchant.

  • Visit the Merchant's profile page — a VIP Merchant badge is displayed there.

Q: Is trading with a VIP Merchant safer? Does it reduce the risk of account freezes?

We understand your concerns about fund safety, and we appreciate your interest in the platform. The platform applies strict screening criteria to VIP Merchants and continuously reviews their trading patterns and fund management. That said, since trading funds move directly between buyer and seller and don't pass through the platform, we can't verify the source of specific payments. If anything looks unusual, please contact customer support right away for verification.

Q: How does a VIP Merchant post an ad in VIP Trading?

On the OKX app, go to C2C buy crypto > Ads > tap the + sign > Select Buy/Sell Ad > Choose VIP-exclusive ad as the ad type.

Q: What happened to the C2C block trading zone?

Ads that used to be posted by block-trading Merchants now appear in the Optional Zone. If you want to trade in large volumes, you can filter for Diamond Merchants offering 100,000+ in the Optional Zone.
