I'm not seeing much chatter about the flashblocks upgrade that Base is expected to ship within the next month or two.
TLDR: Base block times will be reduced to 200ms from 2s. That's a huge reduction.
I'm betting it will reignite activity on base. With faster tx speeds + pectra you get a UX that's just as good as Solana
Two ways I can think of to bet on this are:
- Dexes: Lower blocktimes = higher volume from increased MEV. Aerodrome, the dominant dex on base stands to benefit the most
- Token launchpads: Speculative activity returning to base with more people gambling on new token launches. Clanker holds the #1 spot for base launchpads, but I like what Flaunch has been building.
