3 days ago I talked to @aloothero about the Embeddable Game Standard built by @provablegames, an onchain game standard that lets games integrate with each other seamlessly. I left the call with more questions and even more excitement. I thought I understood it before. I didn’t. It’s way more powerful than people realize. Quick breakdown: Core idea: High-score style games are tokenized as ERC-721s, with their metadata, start/end functions, and win data exposed. This allows platforms like @budokan_gg to run any compatible game inside tournament contracts, with token gating, rewards and difficulty settings. All this without writing new code for each game. But here’s where it gets juicy: This isn’t only about tournaments. It enables a new composable layer for onchain games: - Meta-games (@ponzidotland, @RealmsEternum, and future worlds) can seamlessly embed and permissionlessly compose with any compatible game. - Once a game supports the standard, it becomes part of a broader onchain gaming network, instantly interoperable with any meta-game, leaderboard, or composable layer. - This flips the model: meta-games don’t “build integrations”, they discover and compose games that already expose the interface. - Builders of mini-games automatically gain distribution across all participating meta-games with no extra work. In short: The Embeddable Game Standard is an extremely powerful integration spec. It facilitates the open, permissionless, composable onchain game ecosystem. This means mini-games and meta-game layers can interoperate by default. One step closer to the composibility vision!
