another bitcoin company went public on NASDAQ this week: @Gemini to the world it might look like overnight success but you need to understand how hard it was to have conviction early on and to stick with an idea for a decade plus: - @tyler and @cameron started buying bitcoin in 2012 when most people would laugh at “magic internet money”. - in 2013 they had the foresight to file for the first bitcoin ETF, it took the regulators 11 years to eventually approve US ETFs. - in 2014 they started Gemini in NYC (when NY was hostile against our industry) with an extreme focus on compliance. - along the way, they used Winklevoss Capital to fund other entrepreneurs and builders (ethereum, filecoin, stacks etc). congrats to tyler and cameron on the IPO! but more importantly let’s appreciate and thank them for all their contributions to bitcoin and the crypto industry 👏🚀
