Staking $WAL secures @WalrusProtocol network, but native staking locks your tokens for 14–28 days
To work around these limitations, they're using LSTs to make it more appealing to users by:
• Turning locked WAL into a liquid, tradable token
• You still keep earning staking rewards
• You can use the LST tokens in DeFi or exit instantly via protocols like @HaedalProtocol & @WalrusLST
You benefit from being able to earn through staking and DeFi while also having the option to exit immediately.
Long lockups are not for everyone and I personally like being able to move assets fast to minimize my risk but it doesn't quite convince me to stake atm... maybe when the market gets boring
🔓 Liquid Staking on Walrus
Staking WAL helps to secure the network - and Walrus' Liquid Staking Tokens (LSTs) provide a smart design to transform your illiquid staked WAL position into a flexible, tradable LST.
