For those asking: Zelle/Venmo don't actually settle instantly. They're taking credit risk on the part of users, because ACH still takes something like 2-3 days. And of course that limits the transaction amount, never mind it not supporting international payments across banking systems (while crypto is borderless by default). 90% of Tradfi is technology making it seem to the user the underlying system isn't held together with 19th-century concepts and duct tape and happening at Internet speed (when it isn't). Blockchain is (re)building the financial system when Internet is a starting assumption.
