September’s Fed hike was unanimous. The reason behind it wasn’t.
Minutes released today show officials split over whether the 25bp increase was mainly insurance against inflation shocks—or the start of tighter policy to cool demand. Most still saw one more hike in 2026 as appropriate, but there was little urgency for October.
For crypto, the distinction matters: pause ≠ pivot.
