🚨 $CORE DAO's 90% Hash Rate Claim Deserves a Closer Look
$CORE DAO is once again highlighting that 90% of Bitcoin's total hash rate is participating in its network delegation. While the figure sounds impressive, it's important to understand what it actually represents.
The effective delegated hash rate visible on-chain is estimated to be closer to 35% of Bitcoin's network. The widely cited 90% largely reflects mining pool participation, not the amount of Bitcoin hash power actively securing the Core network.
It's also worth remembering that hash rate delegation doesn't redirect Bitcoin's mining power or strengthen Core's security. Instead, it functions primarily as a signaling mechanism that allows miners to qualify for $CORE token rewards.
The timing of this narrative is notable. Several ecosystem initiatives—including SatPay, B14G, and token buyback plans—have yet to deliver meaningful traction. Meanwhile, concerns around token unlocks, inflationary selling pressure, and alleged wash trading continue to attract attention.
Compared with BTCFi competitors such as Babylon, $CORE still lags in several key areas, including Bitcoin staking adoption, institutional participation, and overall on-chain activity.
Strong narratives can capture attention, but long-term value is built on real adoption, sustainable ecosystem growth, and transparent data.
Always verify the numbers behind bold claims and focus on fundamentals—not just headlines.
