$kas, pay attention. Withdrawal costs from various L2s to the base layer: - Optimism: Gas + data cost - Arbitrum: Gas + data cost - Base: Gas + data cost - zkSync Era: Gas + data cost - Polygon: Gas + data cost - Scroll: Gas + data costs - Linear: Gas + data costs - Kasplex: 0.5% of the withdrawn amount They are pocketing 0.5% of all Kaspa deposited on Kasplex. Why? One answer I expect is that this money doesn't go to Kasplex, but to Kurve, which is a separate bridging service and priced as such. To this I say: - It is owned by the same people! - It is exclusive. There is no competition in the Kasplex-Kaspa bridging, and there couldn't be any before Kasplex is open-sourced. For that reason only, bridging should be free or at execution costs, but instead it costs more than most multi-asset bridges. And this raises another concern: The Kurve website ( clearly states that "The bridge service fee may be updated over time to reflect operational needs. Any adjustments will be published through KURVE documentation and communication channels.". So what if tomorrow they decide to increase the fee to 2%? 5%? 90%? All holders of wrapped Kaspa on Kasplex will be stranded, forced to pay the increased cost if they ever want their Kaspa unwrapped. This is an incredible example of why trusting a closed-sourced mainnet is such a dangerous and terrible idea, and more so for a fully centralized network (where the public is not even given access to closed-sourced node binaries, but instead the same group of people is running all nodes) like Kasplex. Be careful, and don't give anyone you wouldn't trust with the cash hidden in your mattress the ability to hold your funds hostage.
