2/ Leo earned his PhD at Cornell University, joined Rutgers as an Assistant Professor, and researched cryptography at Algorand. During these stints, he recalls: "Zero-knowledge systems were mathematically elegant, but far too slow and inefficient for real-world adoption."
3/ Leo went on to co-found Cysic in 2022, building custom accelerators and ComputeFi to map hardware on-chain for 10x faster, cheaper proofs.
4/ Fast forward 3 years, Cysic powers ZK + AI compute globally.
Leo’s advice to hopeful academics-turned-founders?
“99% of startups cannot win on tech alone. As a founder, you need PR, marketing, partnerships, and a community. Manage these and stay focused on the bigger picture."
