altcoin dilution and dispersion is real
there's literally over 17.5 million cryptocurrencies today, with tens of thousands of new cryptocurrencies being created daily
and there's no way all of them are getting a bid!
it is becoming clear that crypto (at least most of it) is mostly useless
which is why i'm incredibly bullish on USELESS coin as THE new cycle play to watch out for
it is the one memecoin that accurately describes this space
it is also the most honest cryptocurrency in the world today: makes no promises, has no utility, sets no expectations, etc... and as a result has no ceiling
it is also incredibly unique and impossible to PvP
the higher it goes, the more alluring it becomes and the more its mindshare will grow... which is what has been happening as it's pumped 3,400% in two weeks to a $150 million market cap ATH
i think USELESS coin is an easy multi-billion dollar market cap hold!
BTC dominance will top... eventually
Altcoins will outperform for a decent length of time... eventually
However, it won't be like the 2017/2021 altcoin bull markets...
There are 100x more coins now than back then, coin launching infra nowadays is completely frictionless, almost free and requires 0 technical knowledge. Hence why there are so many coins
In previous cycles you could throw a dart at a board and make money... however this cycle, coin selection is more important than ever
Due to the above, it's best to keep most of your port in well established coins that are liquid and do consistent volume. You want to hold coins that you know will go up with the wider market (if not outperform) instead of coins that struggle even when the market is bullish and need some kind of catalyst
Probabilistically... I firmly believe holding a basket of large memes like pepe, fartcoin, spx, bonk, pengu, wif, floki... will outperform a basket of random freshly launched memes. There are just so many coins. Tens of thousands launch every day. A minute % of new coins survive. It's generally better r:r to bet on the coins that have already survived and are actively traded than some random new launches
Punt with a small % of ur port by all means, but keep the bulk of it in coins that u know will go up with the wider market. In a real altcoin bull market, all you have to do is pick good coins and sit on ur hands
