A jump in hike odds is not the same as a clean risk-off signal. BTC and XAUT both rose even as September hike odds reached roughly 90%.
My read: the harder question is whether energy and production costs feed into services. With annual core CPI easing to 2.4%, the case for a hike looks less settled than the odds suggest. That tension matters more than the headline alone.
