Its long-term opportunity is not simply processing transactions more efficiently, but creating an environment where developers can build applications that would be difficult or expensive on Ethereum directly. Adoption remains the key variable. Strong developer activity and recurring application usage would provide much stronger evidence than technical specifications alone.
