Anthropic's decision to show Q3 performance privately to institutional investors makes the reported $2T valuation less a verdict than a negotiating reference point. Demand can be tested before full earnings face public scrutiny, while the offering size and timetable remain open.
That preserves flexibility, but it also leaves outsiders with a headline valuation and few inputs for judging it.
