Consensys Acquires Web3Auth to Optimize the MetaMask Experience and Accelerate Bitcoin Support

PANews reported on June 3 that, according to The Block, Consensys has acquired Web3Auth, a wallet infrastructure provider, aiming to simplify the management of MetaMask seed phrases and improve the user experience through Web2 login. Details of the transaction were not disclosed. The integration will also accelerate support for non-EVM chains such as Solana and Bitcoin, with full Bitcoin functionality expected in Q3. The Web3Auth service reaches more than 500,000 end users, and the move also strengthens MetaMask's global footprint, especially in the Asian market.
