Recently, I took a closer look at the architecture design of Irys, and it’s indeed quite interesting. Many people still think it’s just the next "cheap version of Arweave," but it’s actually not comparable on the same dimension. @irys_xyz is a Layer 1 blockchain focused on programmable data, aiming to allow data to be called, verified, and monetized like smart contracts. In other words, it wants the data itself to "have a brain." From an architectural perspective, Irys completely disassembles and reorganizes the cumbersome steps of traditional storage. Previously, storing data on Filecoin required manually setting durations, calculating gas, and performing validations. Now, you just need to specify a period on Irys, and the system automatically upgrades from short-term validation to permanent anchoring. The storage cost is anchored to physical prices, only $2.5/GB, settled in stablecoins, so you no longer have to worry about token fluctuations. But what really makes me feel it has potential is "IrysVM." This execution environment allows data to execute logic on its own, such as automatically distributing royalties for AI models, on-chain verification of access rights, and even directly participating in the inference process. Data transforms from "static files" to "dynamic assets," which is actually a key piece in the combination of AI + Web3. The design of the consensus layer is also quite sophisticated. Irys uses a hybrid model of PoW + Staking: the former prevents attacks, while the latter prevents spam, and it ensures that miners are responsible for the data—whoever loses data gets penalized. With the GPU verification mechanism, AI computations can be natively completed on-chain, no longer relying on external verification layers. The overall architecture resembles a "blockchain foundation tailored for AI." I tend to view Irys as an "AI data backbone network" rather than just a simple storage network. The mainnet is about to go live, and the testnet has already processed 1 billion data transactions, with a community of over 500,000 people. Once the TGE lands, the chemical reaction of this ecosystem may happen faster than expected. AI projects, developers, and the data economy may all need to redefine the rules on Irys. @KaitoAI #KaitoAI #Yappers @Galxe #Starboard @cookiedotfun #snaps @0xPolygon @arbitrum
