EIP-7702 changes what’s possible with an Ethereum wallet. It lets a regular Externally Owned Account (EOA) temporarily act like a smart contract account for a single transaction. That means the same wallet address can batch actions, sponsor gas, or add custom validation logic, then revert back to a normal EOA right after. For developers, this unlocks Account Abstraction-style experiences without forcing users to adopt new wallet standards. A single EOA can now interact with contracts or dApps in ways that previously required ERC-4337 smart accounts. But to make 7702 usable in practice, we need strong public infrastructure. That’s where Etherspot comes in. The Ethereum Foundation has awarded Etherspot a grant to build free, censorship-resistant infrastructure for EIP-7702, including: > Public UserOp mempool nodes shared across ERC-4337 and 7702 accounts > Native tracer support for faster transaction execution > Multi-chain rollout across Ethereum, Optimism, and Arbitrum (with more to follow) This keeps EIP-7702 open, accessible, and aligned with Ethereum’s values of decentralization and neutrality. EIP-7702 makes EOAs smarter and Etherspot is building the foundation that makes it real. If you want to integrate EIP-7702 in your project, reach out to us — we’re just a DM away.
