Our brains are going to atrophy so much.
really enjoyed this paper from openai on how people use chatgpt. demand for inference is going to continue to explode in the next 1-2 years. it is clear that a meaningful share of it will require real-time access to the web. today, the options AI companies have are: scrape google, scrape bing (who killed their api), or rerank cached/scraped search results with neural nets (some startups are doing this). none of these really scale. today, Grass is used by companies to deliver incredible amounts of training data (2-3 petabytes a day), most of which is multimodal. as compute demand for inference flips training, we expect the same infrastructure that's being used for collecting training data to be used for Live Context Retrieval.
