Just got home from @ETHSafari, the most special conference I’ve ever attended! It’s clear to me that builders on the African continent are leading the way on creating real world applications for crypto tech ie. supporting the largely informal farming economy (@AFRIKABALHQ), cross border payments for small businesses (@swyptio), and censorship resistant media (@jamitHQ). I think it’s crucial to follow crypto developments in Africa to understand the true possibilities of this technology (and use cases beyond just existing crypto users get richer…there were literally no mentions of tokens at the entire event!!!) As @domschwenter said during his talk, “technological adoption needs more than just the tech to work,” in order for it to make an impact, it needs an entire ecosystem of development, mentorship and culture building, which @LiskHQ is implementing via incubator programs, active investing and actually being on the ground at events like @ETHSafari .
