This sounds kinda gwei but here’s what I figured out about why the content I made in 5 minutes gets more reach than the one I spent a whole week on.
1. Upload timing
I posted about 3 hours later than my usual time when my followers are most active. That definitely mattered.

2. Trashy AI bot comments
Interactions from accounts that aren’t real users clearly lowered the quality of the reach.
People acting like bots(🤮) and actual bots both need to get blocked, for real.
That way I can talk to the people I actually want to talk to, and I can get discovered by the people I want to reach.
I’m going to block all of them right now.
