No major L2 will ever pivot to an Alt L1.
Why?
Because they can never compete with ETH L1 re: security and are able to do what they're best at by leveraging L1: execution.
It's simply in their best interest.
MegaETH can only do 100k+ realtime tps (mainnet next few weeks testnet already 20k+) in tandem with L1 (and EigenDA).
That's why Alt L1s like Celo & Ronin pivoted to L2s. They can cut operating costs by 100-1000x.

everyone is trying to compete with @solana
let me explain you more:
im an eth maxi and i want ethereum to win. i also have huge solana bags (thanks to FTX crash) and i like solana's vibes. these are the only two dominating L1s, maybe monad in future.
but all the different L2s, including Base, are trying to copy solana while disguised as pro ethereum and for ethereum.
im convinced that none of the L2s are pro ethereum. if given a chance in future, they will pivot to an L1 and we will see base doing so as well.
currently they are trying to take on solana because solana has most retarded gamblers and solana also has so much revenue and liquidity that none of these chains could replicate.
that is why base came up with solana <> base bridge. it's not so that devs could get a great devEx lmaoo... it is so that base could get solana's liquidity.
while there is nothing wrong, we need to see things as how they are. no one is changing the world economy by bridging to solana. everyone is competing for solana's resources, similar to how countries fight for each other for each other's natural resources because liquidity, after all, is scarce until you launch a token out of thin air.
