How long will the bull market last?
One very simple thing to keep an eye on is log scale diagonal support.
In 2016, we maintained bull market diagonal support.
From March-June 2017, the two pivots increased the steepness of the diagonal support, which is to be expected as the bull market becomes more aggressive later in the cycle. That diagonal was then lost, signalling a shift in momentum and the start of the bear market.
We have less of a "shift" in aggression this time round, but as the asset class matures, volatility decreases, so that may be why. However, I consider us in a bull market until these diagonals are lost.

What about 2021?
Same thing. Though we put in that double top, but notice after the first high, we then lost the bull market supporting diagonal. We only managed a double top during an underside re-test of the lost diagonal - therefore, the writing was already on the wall ....
