.@MandalaChain is answering a question we all ask:
How does Web3 actually serve a country?
Not just dApps.
But health. Data. Governance itself.
Their answer? @Polkadot!
Not a concept. It’s happening.
🧵 From a pandemic-era YouTube channel to a bridge between Web3 and the fourth largest country in the world — this is the real story of how a group of builders made Polkadot part of public infrastructure:
1/
During lockdown, there was almost zero quality Web3 content in Bahasa Indonesia.
So @Mick_Republik and friends launched a YouTube channel to teach blockchain — in their native language.
One year later: 100k subscribers, the biggest Web3 community in Indonesia.
2/
Then one day, a Bali-based developer named @dgreatanda reached out:
“Government officials are asking me about blockchain. I don’t know how to explain it.”
So they co-hosted a bootcamp. 80 government officers joined.
That’s when everything started to change.
3/
After the bootcamp, government departments started requesting blockchain solution:
Healthcare.
Data protection.
Identity systems.
Mandala was born: a government-grade rollup built on Polkadot.
4/
Their strategy was clear:
📡 Use Substrate to launch local government chains
🧩 Mandala acts as a relay to Polkadot
🧠 Public services run on-chain, data stays sovereign, interoperability powered by Polkadot
5/
Now, West Java — home to 50 million people — has launched the Skyload blockchain using Substrate.
It plugs into @MandalaChain and is tracking childhood nutrition data to improve public health outcomes.
Real blockspace, real governance.
6/
But Mandala’s not just for Indonesia.
They’re already in talks with other countries.
Several major partnerships are on the way.
Their vision: a modular govchain stack adopted across jurisdictions — all feeding value back into the Polkadot ecosystem.
7/
They’re also working closely with fellow parachains:
🔁 @MoonbeamNetwork + @hydration_net for core infra
🧠 @Acurast for on-chain compute
🌉 @hyperbridge for cross-chain liquidity
🏦 @xcavateofficial for RWAs
💸 Longtime support from @PolimecProtocol
8/
Mandala’s native token is Kepeng (KPG) — inspired by ancient SE Asian coins with a square hole in the center.
This time it’s not backed by gold, but by blockspace — a fusion of history, symbolism, and decentralized infrastructure.
9/
Behind the chain is a rock-solid team:
🎮 CEO Matt Paul — early Cardano evangelist
🛠 COO Alex Hogan — ex-engineer
💼 BD head Matt Cook — a US-HK finance native
They’re not just talking Web3. They’re building it.
10/
Mandala’s journey wouldn’t be possible without the Polkadot community.
Co-founder Anta is a proud graduate of the @AcademyPolkadot.
And this August, they’ll host the PBA right in Bali.
Get ready for a builder wave.
11/
This summer, Bali will host:
🏝️ Coinfest
🏛️ PBA courses
👥 Dev meetups
Polkadot’s tech will reach Indonesian universities, dev networks, and government offices — all in one explosive week.
If you’re in SEA, don’t miss it.
12/
Follow @MandalaChain to watch a blockchain evolve from island → country → the world.
Polkadot is thriving in Indonesia.
