It’s Phase 3 of Crypto: The Privacy Era
We proved decentralized money could work (BTC)
We added programmability (ETH, SOL)
Now we encrypt what we’ve built (ZEC, STRK)
Zcash is the simulations way of signaling to us that privacy will define the third era of crypto.
To paraphrase @balajis:
The first 7 years we proved we could have digital scarcity, censorship resistance, and real decentralized money (Bitcoin).
The second 7 years we added programmability via smart contracts (Ethereum, Solana, DeFi).
The next 7 years are a return to one of the original cypherpunk values: privacy as a fundamental right (Zcash, Starknet, ???).
It’s poetic really.
